Education is the single most common theme in IELTS Writing Task 2, so it is the first topic to master. The short answer for a high band: read whether the question asks about schools, universities, or learning methods, take a clear position, and support it with two developed ideas and concrete examples. Common question angles

Education questions cluster into a few predictable shapes. Knowing them in advance means you spend planning time on ideas, not panic:

• Online vs classroom learning — Are online courses as effective as face-to-face teaching? (opinion / discussion)
• Funding and access — Should university be free, or should students pay? (opinion)
• Exams and assessment — Do exams measure real ability, or should we assess differently? (problem-solution)
• What schools should teach — Practical life skills vs academic subjects; should subjects be compulsory or optional?
• The role of teachers and technology — Will technology replace teachers? Should children start school younger?

Vocabulary and collocations you need

A high Lexical Resource score comes from natural, accurate collocations — not rare words used wrongly:

• academic performance, lifelong learning, critical thinking skills

• the curriculum, compulsory subjects, vocational training
• to broaden one's horizons, to acquire knowledge, to bridge the skills gap

Notice the position is clear and singular — the examiner should never have to guess what you think. Each body paragraph then defends one idea with an explanation and a real example.
