Frequently asked questions

Is this an official score?
No, it is an estimate. This is a range from one quick read, not an official band: only an examiner at a real test can give you that.
Why a range instead of a single number?
One read cannot be accurate to half a band. A range is the honest answer: it shows where the essay sits today without promising something we cannot guarantee.
Why does the estimate look low?
By design. When the read is uncertain we take the lower range: finding out on test day that you are stronger than you thought is the better surprise.
How many free checks do I get?
